My 3-1/2 y.o. son has been potty trained for 9 months. His last two bowel movements have been in his underpants. HELP! I thought the first one was an isolated incident, but today nearly set me over the edge. I am trying not to freak out, but it's not easy. I told him if he could poop on the potty he would get a special prize. Is that wrong? What else should I be doing? THANK YOU in advance for any help!
Answer:
This isn't all that uncommon. Thankfully, it's generally a short-lived phase. I think it may be part regression and part experimentation. I think so long as you make sure he understands he's not supposed to do it, he'll give it up soon.
