Why are the times different on the main page and the actual question?

The main list of questions says the question was posted 20 seconds ago but when I click on the questions it shows it was posted 8 minutes ago and already has 10 answers. Why?

Haven't figured that one out yet either. Also Answers is supposed to e-mail when you get Answers to your Questions or Best Answer. I haven't received one in a long while and have to check to see what's going on.
Maybe the transfer of data is slow...
