Trying to wean 21 month old boy off bfing and finding it very difficult!?
Answer:
Basically just don't give him the breast..he has to eat and he will when he gets hungry enough..don't give in..it sounds mean but it works.they have to learn and sometimes that the only way.he he realizes that you will just give him what he wants sometime he will wait you out..don't let him.offer him food and if he don't eat it.thats fine.try again later..but do not give him anymore boob...he will eat when he get hungry.
Get some golden seal root extract. and rub it on your nipples, let the boy taste that, it's horribly bitter.
This is how my daughter weaned her 3 yr. old from the bottle. She had tried everything else.
You can buy it @ a health food store or your local pharmacy, like wal-mart.
I GUARANTEE IT WILL WORK!
I think you should definitely consult a pediatrician. Also, maybe you're giving in to the whining and fussing too soon. Don't worry if you're child fusses, that's normal. Try making a bottle and putting near your breast. he doesn't even like hamburder meat? Good luck!
Do not let him breast feed at all. he's got you where he wants you. if you stop completly he might get hungry and try some foods. I would offer like peanutbutter crackers or toddler stuff he won't choke on but no more boob. it is hard but I believe the cut of for BF is 1 yr old. Give him 3 days of crying for it and he will stop. You can change almost any unwanted behavior in kids in 3 days, I swear by it. Having been a nanny for 18 yrs and having to deal with alot of bad nanny habits before me. Good Luck! Aloha!
thats really weird.. have a 2 year old hanging off your breast is like having a little person latched on there. It is going to take some tuff love to break the habit. A child wont let themselves starve, just don't make your nip available to feed on, you will have to be strong and not give in when they cry and scream, but they will get the point and move forward. DON"T LET HIM BF ANYMORE! HE WILL NOT STARVE
