Toddler constipation "normal"?
Answer:
THAT'S HER PROBLEM....SHE NEEDS TO EAT. SHE'S NOT GETTING ENOUGH FIBER AND ITS CAUSING HER TO BE CONSTIPATED. IT IS NORMAL TO A PT. HER MOTHER NEEDS TO TAKE HER TO A DR, THOUGH. MY DAUGHTER HAS THE SAME ISSUES AND CONSTANTLY GETS URINARY TRACT INFECTIONS. SHE'S ON MEDS FOR THAT, PLUS WE HAVE TO GIVE HER MILK OF MAGNESIUM EVERYDAY TO KEEP HER "NORMAL". THE DR SAID IT'S JUST A PHASE-ESP FOR PICKY EATERS. HER MOTHER SHOULDNT TRY AND "DIAGNOSE" HER OWN DAUGHTER. SHE NEEDS TO TAKE HER TO A DR IN CASE IT IS SOMETHING MORE SERIOUS.
No I do not think that sounds normal. A child may have a occasional constipation spell, but not constant. That is crazy that the mother will not take that child to the doctor. She hasnt even taken the child when her anus tore? If thats the case, that IS Not right.
Its also not normal for a child to not eat. Yes they get there spurts when they may not want to eat, but try talking the mother into taking her child to the doctor.
THe kid has put it together that she eats then has to poop. If she can't poop then everything gets backed up. I would either talk her mom into taking her to the dr...if she does not take the child to the dr or er yourself. THe mother is not properly taking care of her child.
We had some constipation issues but no constant. We use to give my daughter sugar water and 30 min later it all came out soft. I would not use this as a daily treatment since your body gets use to it.
