What is the best medicine to bring down a kids fever?
Answer:
any doc i have gone too, all say the same.. alternate every 4 hours.tylenol and advil. WORKS LIKE A CHARM how old is your daughter? if she is still little, use INFANTS formula, when they are sick, its a stronger does in a smaller form, so they dont have to take so much, they already feel crappy. 1ml compared to 5 mls...what a treat!
children's tylenol
Children's Motrin
tylonal is the only thing you should be using. But if there is a fever then there is more than likely an infection. You should take her to the hospital anyway. good luck
For me... Tempra - Motrin
tylenol. Hurry!
Infant or children's motrin.
Children's Tylenol always works for me if that dosent work take her to the hospital asap.
My kids pediatrician always says use Children's Tylenol or Motrin.
Tylenol and keep her cool. Don't pile on the blankets or put her in warm pj's. Cold cloths will keep the fever down.
You can alternate children`s Tylenol and Motrin every 2 hours. Some pediatricians recommend doing this since the Tylenol can cause liver damage if you have to give to much.
Children's Tylenol is what I recomend. That's what I used to take when I was younger.
Time.
depending on her age, childrens tylenol, or if she is a little older, regular tylenol. I would add that with a fever like that, going to outpatients might not be a bad idea. hope she feels better soon
In my experience, a supository and a cool bath.
put a towel in cool water, wrap her in it and wrap another dry towel around her. No clothes on. Depending on age, you can alternate between tylenol and motrin. Give tylenol every 4 -6 hours and in between give motrin like 2 hours after the tylenol. Hope she feels better. Oh and a miserable visit to the ER wont be any good unless she has had the fever for more than 2 days. She should be fine. Good luck
Calpol and baby ibuprofen.
Does she have a headache too? The symptoms you have listed are similar to those of meningitis, not to scare you, but perhaps you need to call the out of hours doctors service, you doctors surgery's answer machine should have the number in the recorded message.
Her age is an important factor to consider. If under 3 years, use Infant Tylenol as directed on the bottle.
Even if she says she feels cold, don't wrap her up in blankets, as it just keeps the heat in.
Also, my mom always used wet socks (on our feet) to bring the temperature down. They shouldn't be cold, just room temperature.
**Call your pediatrician. Even if they are closed almost EVERY doctor has an emergency call line. They will page the doctor on call to give you advice and let you know if you need to go to the ER.
Cold Drinks..Cool Baths...Do not Bundle Them up..Keep out of Drafts. IF Not Feeling Better.. after a FEW HOURS call Hospital and Ask for Assistance..
children shoud not be given aspirin!
peppermint tea is cooling and will help rid any pathogens.
a child with a temp under 102 does not require immediate medical attention. ( i see hers is over). make sure to keep her hydrated with plenty of water (sugar-based drinks add to dehydration).
if this is a sudden onset of symptoms, it could be an allergic reaction. Any new foods within the last 3 days?
best of health to you.
I see others have recommended alternating tylenol & motrin, but I've always been told not to do it. Either way, the best thing for you to do is make sure she stays hydrated... give her lots of popsicles, juice mixed with water, and water. Make sure she is clothed lightly, and don't cover her with more than one light blanket. Depending on how long it's been going on, your best bet may just be to go ahead and get her seen by the doctor. A fever along with vomiting & other symptoms is never good for a little one :( Has she been peeing/pooping regularly? If not, and if she has any other signs of dehydration, then you should get her seen pretty soon.
alternate the doses between Motrin and Tylenol every few hours.
For high temperature ,especially in children, a cloth dipped in egg whites or onion juice may be placed on the feet to reduce the temperature. Visit this link for more information on causes and home remedies for fever http://ailments.in/fever.html
