Remedies for motion sickness that are safe for a 3yr old?

My daughter gets motion sick every morning on the way to school. She eats a decent breakfast and juice (the milk seemed to make it worse) I have tried ginger ale, children's dramamine (which only made her sleepy...she was still sick) and letting her drink sprite in the car. She doesn't always throw up, but at least once a week she does. I have taken to carrying a barf bag in the car. She has taken to refusing to eat breakfast because she doesn't want to miss school. Any suggestions?

Answer:
I have suffered from motion sickness as long as I have been alive. The more you ride in a car, etc does not help.
Try to get an elevated or booster car seat so she can see out the window from the backseat. No reading, coloring, looking down at her lap, personal electronic devices (video games), etc.
Try the dive/motion sickness bracelets, I wear them for all travel, in the car (if I'm not driving), on planes, boats, etc, it works well.
Also, leave early (YES, EARLY) and have a breakfast picnic at her school before classes begin. I ate my breakfast on the school playgrounds, common area, etc., for my entire school career.
It actually became a cherished time with my mom that I still think about today!
Good Luck!!
Start taking her for little drives during the day - once around the block, that sort of thing. Put her in the car so much that she gets used to it, and stops being ill. Drive a little slower if that helps - get her a backyard swing, take her to the park and let her go on those spinny-things. The more motion she goes through that would make her sick, the less it will bother her. A little at a time, though.

You should also call and talk to your pediatrician as it may be a sign of something else.
I know it sounds silly, but have you tried turning the fan on and pointing a vent at her? Or rolling down her window? I know it sounds silly, but cold air blowing on my face helps me in a car, with motion sickness and headaches. Its cold for everyone else, but I get to the destination in a much happier mood than otherwise!
I don't know how familuar you are with scuba diving, but divers use a "Dive Bracelet", it's a type of weighted bracelet that helps with this very problem. If you have access to a dive shop, go pick one up. Or get one on EBay, your daughter will love it too, they come in all kinds of kool colors and designs. Good luck.
Often motion sickness is due to looking out the window in the back seat. Try different things, reading, coloring, don't let her look out the window if possible. I know, she is 3, but see if you can. Often when motion sick individuals ride in the front seat, it helps tremendously. But if you have a front seat airbag, thats not allowed until they are 12 years old. Good luck and maybe the doctor could prescribe something that wouldn't effect her as much as the dramamine. Yes, the window down for air helps a lot.
Maybe since milk is a large part of the problem you should try getting soy milk. My daughter drinks 8th Continent... its really good.
Talk to the doctor too. He may have another stronger medication to offer to help.
