Any advice for flying with 17 month old toddler overseas? Help! I leave today!!?
Answer:
Hello:
I would say that you should fill a little backpack with toys that she loves to play with. You want to make sure that you have multiple activities for her to do, because as you know toddlers love to move from activity to activity.
I would also suggest trying to tire her out before the trip. Maybe while you are waiting in the airport go for a long walk so that she will be tired and sleep for a long portion on the flight. Another suggestion might be to bring an Ipod or a CD player for her to listen to.
Also I would suggest bringing a variety of snacks. Maybe treats that she normally doesn't get to eat at home, to make this a special trip. Because like people before have mentioned, it can be an unpleasant trip for other people if she is unhappy or being very loud. So I think it's less about discipline and more about making her quiet and distracted. So if you can kind of bribe her with treats and new toys or lots of games, than you can keep her entertained and happy for the duration.
I hope this helps and good luck!
I don't feel sorry for you at all. I pity the people who are sitting next to you.
Hopefully you had the sense to get her her own seat and in first class.

I've heard you give them some advil (kids) so they go to sleep. or games a fav. toy. good luck :)
Pack lots of toys and snacks in the diaper bag. When i fly with my 15 month old i buy her a few new toys to take so she will play with them longer. Snacks and drinks because the depending what airline you are flying they do not have a toddler friendly snack planned for the flight. When we flew the gave us fiesta peanuts both my daughter and I are allergic. Let him look out the window and see all the things around. And when you take off give him a pacifier or a bottle this will help his ears from poping. Good luck and enjoy your trip.
i know this sounds bad but when my parent travel with me a long way the used Little baby Tylenol the drowsy kind and they said it helped alot i think there is something called benadryl also i spelled that wrong but you get the point hope to have help best of luck
My daughter is 15 months and we just flew to Florida. She is also a very curious baby, but she did surprisingly well. I know mine was only a 3 hour flight, and yours is going to be alot longer. Just make sure you get a window seat, take books, toys, or whatever will keep her occupied. Good Luck!!
Bring lots of her favorite toys to keep her occupied, and if they will let you, lots of snacks. also remember to bring her favorite blanket.
