Why do little kids draw things to express their problems instead of talking about it with someone?

Answer:
Because they don't have the cognitive ability to explain their feelings in detail. They can picture it in their mind but cannot put into words. So, they draw a picture of what's on their mind. Discussing the picture with your child can bring some great insight as to how to deal with what he/she is experiencing.
because for the most part they don't have the vocabulary to express themselves. they also don't know it's ok to express their feelings.
mostly because they can't 'articulate' yet - are unable to verbally put it into words. easier to draw.. however if it's traumatic - they may know how they feel about it and are unable to talk about it - just like some adults.
Most toddlers and young children aren't quite even sure what they are feeling much less have the vocabulary skills to express themselves.. drawing allows them to express those negative "scary" feelings and also allows them to escape those feelings by drawing happier times. Sometimes I wish as adults we could revert to that form of expression..
Not all children draw things.

Children are individuals and so you have to treat them that way.

Very young children do not have the verbal skills to communicate their problems.

If this is your child please find a class to develop your parenting skills...it'll help you and your child.
well sometimes little kids dont like to talk about there feelings and they r to shy to talk about there feelings also so dont pressure them just let them do what they r doing and dont worrie about it.

good luck!
