How do I get my 16 month old to eat regular food?

My daughter has always been fussy with food. A few days ago she puked several times and since then, looks like she will choke with the smallest chunk of food. She refuses to take anything in her hand (except maybe a cracker) like fruit etc. and will play with the fruit if kept on the table. Should I go back to finely pureed food? What should I do?

Answer:
Just keep trying and eat her food with her telling her how yummy it is and showing her it's ok to eat. I wouldn't take any steps back because it only delays her development in eating whole foods.
take her to the doctor. i have a 21 month finicky eater but he has always been that way. she may be sick and when kids tend to get sick to their tummys they dont eat as well.
Its not that easy. I am having one on my own. He eats here and there...one or two bites...he likes varieties...i was having some elders at home ...who was struggling with him to eat...but not anymore, so, i will let him play until he is so hungry and cries. It sounds so cruel. but it really works. you have to show some tough love.
