How can I get my three year old from whining so much?
Answer:
Pretend like you can't understand them when they use the whiny voice. Say something like "I'm sorry but I can't understand you when you talk like that can you try again"
ignore it and clap and be happy when she stops. That's what everyone says
Totally ignore her when she whines.
Dont feed into it. Ignore it. Soon the child will see, it gets no reaction & it will stop.
don't listen to him when he wines. first tell him that you don't understand him when he wines and from then on when he wines don't listen to him. don't respond at all. just ignore him till he speaks the right way. it worked for me with my two year old good luck
Well for a three year old, I think is very common for them to whine . spend time with him and find somethiing that he/she likes and try by giving it to he/her ,it will occupy her/he and when he/her is tired , will sleep.
Try to encourage her to 'ask nicely'. Tell her how you want her to say it. When she does, give her what she wants (if it is appropriate) and lots of attention. Best wishes.
tell him/her once
then if they dont stop tell them once more CARMLY!!
if they continue to whin..ignore them
he/she will learn their lesson
It is normal for a 3-year-old to whine. I would start with "I can't understand you when you whine." Then I would walk away and only acknowledge that they are talking to you when they stop whining.
Another thing you may want to look at is how you talk to the child. When he asks for something over and over do you whine in response. If he isn't getting ready quick enough, what is your response? A lot of us do it without realizing. Which means that we have to check our own whining problem before tackling theirs.
