What is the sleep schedule of your toddler, around 19 months?
Answer:
My 19 month old wakes up around 7:30, takes a nap from 1-3, and goes to bed at 9:30PM. Works for her.
All kids are different and work off of different sleep needs. If yours is cranky, maybe he needs a little more sleep.
my son is almost that age and thats about his sleep pattern to ive tried putting him to bed earlier than 9 and then about at 4 am he thinks its play time.so i would stick to what he is sleeping now.
My 19 month old goes to bed around 7:30- 8:00pm. He's up at 7:00- 7:30am. He takes a nap at 1:00pm and is up about 3:00-3:30pm.
I find that my children sleep more when there is a growth spurt or getting sick.
At 19 months a baby still needs a good 16 hours of sleep. I have a now 9 month old & she sleeps from 16-18 hours. My other children, now 4, 9, & 11... slept for a good 14-16 hours by the time they were 18 months, & still took 2 naps a day.
My niece is 19 mos and is in bed at 8, up at 6:30, naps for about 45 min at 11ish, and 2 hrs at 2ish. She's pretty cranky right now despite the sleep since she's getting some more teeth in...
my son is 21 months. He is up at 7. On MWF, he falls alseep when we take brother to preschool 11:30-1:30. On TTR nap is much later. Most of the time he doesn't go to bed at night until 10. And he always get us once during the night. If you have any tips I sure could use them!
Think of it in terms of overall hours of sleep in a 24 hr period. If he's getting between 12-14 hrs, then he's fine. Sounds like he is so I wouldn't worry about it too much. If he's getting cranky in the morning-put him down for his nap 30 min earlier and bedtime 30 min earlier. If he's cranky in the "witching hour" (4-6pm), then you could try putting him down 30 min earlier for bedtime. I wouldn't put him down an hour earlier right off the bat..gradually add 15,30 minutes every night. Of course, his crankiness could just be a product of approaching those "terrible twos," which I think happened much earlier with my 19month old-HA! Good luck!
