What else can I do to treat pink eye?
Answer:
All doctors offices have an oncall doctor. They will probably call in a prescription for the pinkeye if you call.
Call your doctor. Very often they will prescribe the antibiotic eyedrops without seeing the child.
nope...get her to the Doctor pronto! The drops he'll prescribe take the itchiness and burning sensation away almost immediately! (That stuff is awesome last time I got pinkeye)
They sell over the counter meds for pinkeye - start her on them now - also, see if your health plan has the "call a nurse", and they might be able to get you the prescription now - it is so contagious that others in your family will probably get it if you wait that long. I think that Rite Aid and CVS even have doctor's hours in their pharmacies.
I would go to a heath food store and ask for a natural remedy. They will be open tomorrow. Here is a sample. You may have difficulty getting in to see the doctor. This will help until then.
nope if i was you id just take her to the er now...because by tomorrow both her eyes are going to be like that.i thought i could get away with waiting til monday and i got it on a friday..by saturday morning both of them were oozed shut and what freaked me out the most was i couldnt open them in the morning time!! So imagine how shes going tto feel at that age..i was 20! haha goodluck to you but id go to the er and let them give you meds for it right now~!
well just make sure that she isnt exposed to other people because pink eye is VERY CONTAGIOUS and just wait for the doctor.
When one of my kids was very little I was told to wipe/wash around the eye with baby shampoo. It is very contagious, so you probably should go to the walk in clinic or ER and get a script right away. Wash hands often, her too. Little kids will tend to wipe at it and transmit to the other eye.
over the counter polysporin eye drops - ask the pharmacist
You have to take them to the dotcor and he should order gentimycin drops for it. in the mean time, it is contagious! make sure you wash your hands and keep her CLEAN too. it will spread to both eyes!
Seep a green tea bag in cold water for a few minutes until you start to see the tea turn the water brown. Then take the bag out and squeeze out most of the tea until it only holds a few drops in the bag. Have your little girl hold as still as possible. You might want to sit on the floor and hold her head GENTLY between your knees. Drip the tea into the eye (2 or 3 drops) and then place the bag on her eye as a cold compress for a few minutes. It should clear most of it up the first time but you may need to do it 2 or 3 times afterward.
This WILL clear up the pinkeye. A friend told me about it and it worked on my kids as well as myself. In fact, it works faster and better than antibiotics and is probably better for her too!
You should immediately take her to the doctor. If not treated, the pink eye infection could get so bad that your daughter couldl ose her eye. It is also very contagious. Take her to the doctor. Warm washcloths are probably having no drastic effect on her eye.
well my opinion is go to the doctor pink eye is highly contagious.make sure you wash hands or it can spread good luck
Do you have a patient first in your area or does your insurance not cover that (if there is one)? Or about a doctor on call?
My mom thought she had pink eye and she used warm compress to help, if you have an on call doctor I would ask about the pink eye stuff from Samilasan too see if it is safe to use (herbal) on a 3 yr old because it will help give her some comfort.
Also be sure to keep her hands away from her face so as not to spread it to the other eye and use gloves when dealing with the eye and wash your hands GOOD so as not to spread it to anyone else, the wash clothes I would suggest to go into a pot of boiling water or right into the wash so no one accidently picks it up and get the germs too.
On call doctor definately!
Until Monday, make sure to wipe out her eyes frequently with a mild baby shampoo on a warm wash cloth. If she will let you, you can also put a mixture of diluted honey in water. Also, VERY diluted salt water. It stings a little, so I don't know if you want to use this method on a 3 yo. But that cures my pink eye, didn't even go to the doctor.
