17 month old weighs the same as he did 5 months ago, is that normal?
Answer:
he probably is just swapping fat for muscle... if he is still a healthy weight and eating well then you have nothing to worry about
yes his body is trying to catch up in height. his weight is normal dont worry
I think maybe he is in between growth spurs. My 2 year old daughter has weighed the same for 6 months now but there is nothing wrong with her. My 5 month old son weighs 25 pounds too and so does my 2 year old. But it seems that he is not gaining any weight right now either. You are not alone. I think it is normal.
My son did that! I was so worried! I always asked the doctor about and he said he was perfectly healthy. I couldn't understand it! He ate great! Hearing that from the doctor put my mind at ease:)
don't worry. your baby is perfectly normal. my son was 9lbs 8oz at birth. held on to that lenght and weight for quite some time. was still wearing 2to6mth clothes up to 1year old. we had him on WIC a goverment program for formula ,cereals ,cheese, till they are 5yrs old . they told me his height and weight was too low for his age. they did that measure the feet and hand test,to tell you how tall that your kid will be. i am 5'2 his father is is 5'7 but they told me that my son would be shorter than his dad. my boy just turned 15, his is 5'6 so far . and as boys get their height late i am sure that he will pass up his dad.
dont worry about your babys weight. babys grow when they need to. your fine
Children will grow in spurts..Like with my son...who is 1 1/2 also.he got really chubby.about 24lbs.and then stopped gaining weight.then started to grow talling and a little more slender.I notice now he is starting to get a little chubby again..don't worry.as long as he is still eating good and the doc says everythings ok...he will be fine.
His body could be growing so fast in height, that he's not gaining the weight you feel he should. I have a 5 year-old that still weighs 42 lbs and has for over a year. She's getting tall so fast that her weight is not increasing. It's not a big deal unless he becomes way underweight. Check with your pediatrician.
