How do i get my 1 year old to sleep throught the night?

Answer:
i have a 1 year old and we got her to start sleeping through the night by cutting her naps short during the day... it seems to work, and when you put the baby to bed at night give the baby a bottle or sippie cup ( which my daughter is on) with MILK in it and she should sleep all night!
rock her and sing her a song!
give him/her 2 shots of brandy into his/her milk
put your hand over your wife's mouth
It's really up to the child, unless of course there are things keeping him/her awake such as loud noises, nightmares etc.If she naps during the day then maybe you should change this. Keep her up, don't let her nap as long. My daughter is 3 yrs. old and I don't let her nap anymore or she will be up until midnight, or will fall asleep early and wake up in the middle of the night, wanting to play.
Don't indulge her. Offer her water (nothing else) in case she's thirsty, check to see if she's wet, and leave. Sometimes they cry just to cry, and it seems like an exercise they need. They outgrow it. But if you indulge her when she wakes up, she'll keep waking and trying to get that attention. When the attention stops, she'll learn to roll over and go back to sleep.
by keeping him awake throughout the day
let her play, play, play.when she gets tired she will sleep..and sound asleep at that..believe me..
