Is any one did give birth a baby from father on drugs like morphine (doctor give for pain)?

My husband is in Morphine and Vicodine . He takes time realise Morphine and Vicodine all ready 6 years. He has a very bed pain in his back ( disks problems).
Well we thinking about have a baby!!
My worry is ---------- is is baby will be healthy? I talk to doctors they tell me that what ever husband takes it will not case no birth defects.
I am scared the baby will be unhealthy or with birth defects I did have a Miscarriage when I was 12 weeks pregnant...Doctors do not know what is the problem was, but doctor did tell me that the medication that my husband take did not have any effect on it and that if I will have 3 miscarriges then they will start worry

I'm so sorry. My husband has 3 herniated disks so I know just where you are coming from. The doctor never told me that his medicines would affect anything. The only thing I learned was that steroids can make him sterile for 2 months afterwards. My husband had to get 3 different steroid shots for the pain over this year. And he has Vicodin.
I would listen to your doctor. He has your best interests in mind and will let you know if there is a problem. I doubt the miscarriage was caused by it. I had a miscarriage and an ectopic pregnancy 2 years ago when we were both extremely healthy. And now that we are not so healthy I'm having a good pregnancy so far.
And to the other poster. Yes, it does make it hard to have sex. On the bad days, you can't do anything.

I believe the mans lifestyle does effect the child. If toxins can mutate cells why can't it mutate sperm. But what I want to know is why on earth would he need vicodin if he has morphine. And how do you have sex with him if he is in that much pain.
