13 month old with only 2 teeth?

Our 13 month old only has two bottom teeth, and we can't see any more even remotely close to coming in. Is this pretty unusual? Were yours slow at getting them? My first son started getting his at 3 months and never stopped! It's finally starting to concern me.

Answer:
my neice didn't get her first tooth until she was 12 months she is 4 now and has all her teeth.
my son got his first at 9 month I worried to because all my friends babies were getting them at 4 months.

I am sure they'll all grow in just fine.
It doesn't sound right...ask the doctor
my daughter had no teeth until 15 months. it is perfectly normal and in some ways it is a good thing...the longer they take to come in the longer it will be before they come out

it is perfectly normalll.if it wasnt your DR would have said something to you by now
my favorite line is that "every child is different" and that's what makes children SO unique! your peditrician should ease your mind if anything is wrong.
That's a bit strange. Talk to his doctor about it. Most kids have almost a full set of teeth at around 14-15 months.
I've heard of that plently of times.Must be frustrating especially when your 1st got them so early. It's more common for them to come in earlier, but nothing to worry about. I'm sure you can see it's not really prohibiting him from eating anything, right?? You can read online or in books that it's not totally uncommon.
First off, every child is different. Cutting teeth is comparable to walking. Each baby will do it in their own time I promise!

My daughter didn't get her first two teeth until 10 months and then didn't get the top two all the way in until 14 months! Your baby is fine. Enjoy the pain free moments.

My daughter is 16 months and cutting 8 teeth all at once! Don't worry they'll show up. I just hope it's not a miserable for you as it has been for us.

Studies have also shown that the longer it takes for teeth to come in the stronger their teeth will be and that's a good thing!
Every child deveops differently, and if the pediatrician saw no cause for concern at the 1yr visit I would not worry. My daughter got 2 bottom teeth at 8 1/2 months and nothing else until she was 14-15 months. Her first birthday pic has her in a wide grin with 2 teeth. It was never an issue. She was a healthy full term baby and at 3yrs old now, although she's skinny, she's perfectly normal. No need to worry unless you see other things that are cause for alarm, in which case calling the pediatrician may be in order.
It's no big deal, my 12 month old only has his two bottom teeth, and I know kids who didn't get thier first teeth until after 13 or 14 months. I have heard though that the longer it takes for their teeth to come in, the healthier that the teeth tend to be.
Not unusual at all!! My sis is a dental hygienist and will confirm that the longer they stay under the gums the stronger the teeth will be. My kids didn't start cutting teeth until almost a year. Nothing to worry about!
My sis will recommend that you start seeing a dentist before 3 yrs old. Most people say after 3rd birthday. But there is nothing wrong with having a check up or two before 3 yrs.
I'd ask the pediatrician.
