My 2 year old has a cough and it's keeping her awake, what is the best thing to give her?

She has been waking up every half hour, and is sooo tired, but miserable. What can my husband go buy her to help her feel better and get some rest? Thanks.

Answer:
When my daughter is sick with a cough I like to use Triaminic cough syrup and the coughing strips that you put on their chest. For the fever I use Tylenol every 6 hours and Motrin every 4 hours. Try giving her a bath in luke warm water with that vaporizer bubble bath from Johnson and Johnson. Feed her chicken and rice soup with crackers!! This has always worked for me!! Good luck!
tryamitic caugh medicine. Or just simply caugh sicne she is just caughing. good luck
I would take her to the doc she could have whooping cough. You can get all natural remedy from Melaleuca. They really good stuff. You would need a membership number to buy from them.
Have you tried a humidifer to keep the air moist? That might help.
erm, cough medicine would be a good start.
I've used Delsym for my daughter, and it truly works. It's on the expensive side, but it's worth it. Bit of advice though; if the Deslym doesn't work, I'd probably be inclined to think she has Bronchitis. That is the only time in 2 years that Delsym didn't work for my daughter. It does sound like your daughter's cough is pretty serious. Keep checking her breathing. If she's retracting at the ribs or seems to be struggling to breathe at all, I'd head to the ER. I hope it's nothing serious and that your baby feels better soon. GOOD LUCK!
My boy now 3 had night time cough too. It too kept him up . The next day he was vomiting, took him to the doc and found he had asthma he ended up in hospital for 2 days. Please see this as a warning you child may have asthma . zGet him checked out ASAP.
I would try a humidifier, a good decongestant, and some vicks vapor rub on her chest. If it doesn't get better soon, then I would take her to the doctor.
I don't like to go to the doctor every time my child has a cough or sniffle, but if the symptoms have persisted for more than a week you should definitely take her in to see her doctor just to be sure. Chances are it could be nothing serious, but she could have a cough due to bronchitis, pneumonia, allergies or asthma. Best to not worry and just get it checked out.
simply cough by tylenol its just for coughs and nothing else. instead of cough, fever, headache etc.
try a humidifier, it could be croup, take her to the doctors to rule this out or even for a piece of mind rather be safe then sorry good luck
go to the doctor and ask for carbofed, it will put her to sleep almost instantly and reduce cough a lot i have five children it has always worked for my lil ones
