Why do children insist on jumping on beds, when they know they are going to fall off and it will hurt.?

OH MAN. Several years back i was babysitting my 4 year old niece. I was pretty much trying to be the cool uncle and letting her do what she pleased. She was bouncing on the bed which was by a upstairs window. She bounced too hard, smacked against the window and knocked it out. I grabbed hold of her right before she tumbled out. She found it quite funny, i pretty much pissed my pants on the spot.
They've seen it on films and on television - they don't think they're gonna fall, because they've never seen anyone else fall!
They just want to have fun!
Because children enjoy doing things they shouldn't be doing.
Because it's fun. Everything ion life has risks, children need to learn this from expirience.
because its fun and they think its funny to not listen to you.
Because they have no fear, and initially they don't know it will hurt. Plus its fun and we all love fun.
Because it's fun. As an adult, if they had a huge mattress that you could jump on, wouldn't you do it?

They don't know that will happen. They do it because it is fun.

my kid ended up with his first set of stitches, that way. and the second when he jumped off my couch and "forgot"there was a table there. he's only 6 this happend when he was 3 and again at 4
I used to do it as a kid. Never really gave a second thought to the consequences lol. Kids don't.
Because they forget. they're children.
Because they are kids. They don't think ahead that far. They are only interested in the fun of the jumping.
not children only :D i do it when i know i'll fall ...but it gets me out of the worst mood ...and specially when my friends are doing it too i'm 19 :D

Because it's fun! Kids don't care about consequences, they just wanna do what they wanna do at the time, just because they can't!

The same reason we adults do many things we shouldn't; it's fun. We shouldn't do donuts in the snow, but some of us still do. We should go bungy jumping, but some of us still do. I like going roller skating and ice skating. I know I could get hurt, but I still do it. People do things that make them feel good. Children are just doing something natural; having fun.
just because they want to and its fun admit if you were small enough to jump on a bed you would children have no fear

Why you asked this question when you pretty well know the answer? Your just afraid of the consequences it will bring the children. Don't. Children like to play and have fun and one of them is jumping on the bed, like a trampoline. For sure they will know that when they fall it will hurt them, but the excitement in jumping is far more inviting than the falling off. Child's thinking.

let them jump on the bed, just not TOO often, lol. i mean, they're JUST kid's. let them have fun. they're only that young for a little while ='(

I don't know but i would just let them because when they do fall off and get hurt they will understand why you dont want them doing that. Or if they brake the bed then take it away and make the child sleep in a sleeping bag. Thats what he'll get for disobeying.
same reason they think no one will get hurt when 'play fighting' some one always gets hurt and then they all end up punished.
cuz it's fun! I'm 24 but when I'm on vacation in a hotel the first thing I do is bounce on the bed. Children love to have fun and do many things that they know will hurt them. Buy your kids a trampoline with a net around it. That way they can jump all they want and wont get hurt.
because they are children and have no sense of danger and probably cause your mom and dad has told you not to do it
every children like jumping about on bed because they think that not gonna hurt them and they not listen to u when u say not to do it will hurt u but whenever they fall out they will not do it again that the way they learn
