My toddler may have swallowed a dime?

She seems fine. Eating and drinking normally. Has anyone had a similar experience? What did you do?

Answer:
Kids including myself have been swallowing coins for ages without anything happening, but to be on the safe side, call your local ambulance service or medical center for professional advice.
My mother took me to the doctor as he had an X-ray set-up in his office. That was over 50 years ago, when doctors had such things in their offices.
The coins, ( a nickel, dime and penny if I recall) showed up as passing through the narrow part of my digestive system which was all that concerned the doctor.
i would suggest calling the doctor
dont worry about it, it will pass.
my son swallowed a bead from a necklace, i didn't know until it came out in his diaper the next day!! he has pooped sand too!! he eats everything. i wouldn't worry too much, just watch and make sure it comes out, or you could just call your doc and see what they say. but they will probably tell you to let it run its course
when i was about 9 i swallowed a nickel. My mom took me into the doctors for an x ray or ultra sound (don't remember which one it was) but the doctors said that my body would discard it on its own. So I eventually pooped it out (and it hurt so bad) but my mom gave me ex-lax so that it would help me get it out sooner. If ur worried about it the just bring her into the doctors but, I wouldn't worry about it to much, but just watch her to see if shes making the normal bowel movements.

Good Luck
Call the dr. Most likely they will have you watch to see if it passes. However occasionaly things like this can cause and obstruction in the intestines. I
This will pass..literally
Well, when I was little my mom said I swallowed lots of pennies at various times. Your daughter will be fine! She'll probably poo it out next time she has to go. As long as she can breathe and is eating & drinking OK, she's fine.
the dime might come out when she goes potty or in her poop but just to be on the safe side you might want to go see the doctor.
Not a problem. If your child is breathing properly, seems happy and well, and you see no unusual visual signs, she will be perfectly fine. My baby brother swallowed a diaper pin when he was aroung 13 months of age, and mom spent the next couple of days fishing through all of his shitty diapers using a pair of rubber gloves searching for the pin. She did.
My oldest son swallowed a penny when he was about 2 years old. The doctor said not to worry as long as he was breathing normally and having normal bowel movements. It will eventually pass.

Here is a site with more info.

It should just pass eventually. If you are worried about it then call your child's doctor or take your child to the doctor and he/she will be able to help you more.
