Is there something wrong?

When i take a shower my hair falls out so much is there something wrong with me or is there a certain product i should use on my hair?

Answer:
i lost a lot of hair after i had my first child, but it was never noticiable, except to me when i found it in the drain or on my clothes ... most women will lose some hair after they deliver. mostly because your hair will become thicker and what-not because of the pregnancy and after you have the baby your hormones are all out of whack causing you to lose that beautiful hair!! with me there was never a problem. just seemed to be losing a lot of hair so i talked to my doc, and she basicially said that unless i was having a prob (like a bald spot or bleeding from where the hair was falling out) it would eventually stop falling out and things would be normal!
Go to your doctor, losing alot of hair can be a sign of many things including thyroid problems
Use a gentler shampoo when ur washing your hair. Comb you hair properly before taking a shower (so that there would be no knots wen ur hairs getting wet).
Its probably a combination of things. When you were pregnant, more than likely your hair got a bit thicker. Now that you are no longer pregnant and your hormones have adjusted that hair is falling out again. Also, the stress of being a new mom can cause hair to fall out as well.

The best thing that you can do for your child is to take good care of yourself. Eating well balanced meals, getting fresh air and exercise, taking time to do the things that make you feel good. Doing these things will lower your stress levels and help you keep your hair and be the best mom that you can be!
Although I am not a mother (just a former teacher and Nanny), I was greatly distressed when at one point last year my hair started to fall out. A lot.
Naturally, I freaked out considering severely thinning hair runs in my family, my grandmother wore a wig and my mother probably should consider wearing one herself.

However, after exhaustive research I found out that the reason my hair was falling out was that I had stopped taking Ortho Tricyclin (the Pill) after having been on it for many years. Apparently when you stop taking the pill your body undergoes a very similar change to a woman who has just given birth. One of the more common symptoms is hair thinning or loss for app. 3 months.

My hair actually grew back on its own without any special treatments or products. Therefore, if you have just given birth, or stopped taking the pill it is possible that one of the two is responsible for your hair loss...

I hope this helps
Losing your hair can be a problem and you should see your doctor. But you say it falls out so much...how much? In clumps or just enough to clog the drain after a week or two? There's a BIG difference in the two.

Another question to ask is, did you just have a baby? If your hair is falling out a lot, that could be why b/c your hair tends to not shed when you are pregnant and then it will when you have your baby and people think their hair is falling out.

Do you brush your hair daily? I know this sounds silly, but I got my hair permed and I would NOT comb my hair except for once a week...if that. The curl looked SO much better when I did that! I would finger-comb it, but that's totally different. Well, since combing/brushing helps to remove loose strands, my loose strands would just stay there.and some would get washed out down the drain and make it clog.

One other thing to consider is a zinc deficiency. That's my problem. My doctor ran tests and found out that my zinc in my body was low so I needed to start taking vitamins with zinc in it. Ever since then, my hair has been great. I don't know what zinc has to do with it, seeing as how I'm not a doctor, but it worked for me.

Again, see a doctor just so they can rule out any serious problems!

best of luck!
