Toddler Vitamins??

At what age should a toddler starting taking daily multi-vitamins. My 18 month old has 12 teeth and I don't think that she'd chew the Flinstones ones. What about the gummy ones? Any suggestions??

Serious answers only please!

Answer:
they make vitamins in a dropper, but usually those are given to babies. You could try those until she's 2, and by then she can eat flinstones or the gummies. You can always call your pediatrician
sense he is not old enofe to have hard vatamins i have two kids 3 and 4 i started them at a year old i got the vitaballs they are gum but i would just take a very little of it and let mine have it they loved it cut the ball in to about 6 pices and give him a little
Nobody needs vitamins. Synthetic vitamins are poorly absorbed. Also if you are getting all of one thing from vitamins you may desire to eat certain foods less and there are lots of other things in real food like phytonutrients.
as far as i know, kids are not supposed to take vitamins until they are about 2 years old. i started my son on them when he was about 22 months, mainly because he doesn't eat a lot and is kinda small. Don't knock the flinstones! my son takes the "my first flinstones" vitamins ands loves them! he practically begs me for it every day! They dissolve ok, so she shouldn't have any problem with them when you think she's ready. good luck!
As long as you don't overdose your child on supplements (exceed the RDA for any one vitamin or mineral), a daily multivitamin won't hurt. That would be the main concern.
You have to look on the bottle and see what is age appropriate. Any children that are under 3 years old shouldn't have hard vitamins or gummies because it is a choking hazard. If your child is 18 months old, is a picky eater and you feel he isn't getting enough nutrients then you should get a vitamin in liquid form that is appropriate for his age.
There is no difference between the gummy and regluar flinstones. I have a 19mt old son too and he only takes the polysporin stuff that is brown and disgusting, I put i in this juice or try and give it to him. You have find them at the drugstore. Just looki at the vitamin aisle and I am sure you will find something to suit you kid.
My kids 3 and 2 years old LOVE those gummie ones! Elmo ! I think it is important for them to take them! You all know most kids have a simple pallet hot dogs pizza snacks yes we give them fruit and veggies yet I feel better as a mom to give them a daily vitamin it is flu season! I will take all the help I can get!
my son is 25mos and started taking them at 2yrs, after checking with his pediatrician.

I cant stand that they make vitamins like candy (especially the gummy ones) because it is easy to get sick from too much vitamins (especially toddlers). Its best to ask your pediatrician first.
