Why do children sing while using the toilet?

The acoustics are great in the bathroom
its entertaining and it keeps them busy. i know several grown men who sing or carry on conversations with themselves while in the bathroom. its not just kids adults do it too
gives them something to do
why do people take newspapers / magazines to the toilet with them??
No good reading material. Put young books/mags in the restroom for them. Are they boys?
They are bored!
Mine doesn't sing, but he does read, or at least look at a picture book.
My theory is--going potty is boring. It's kind of like time-out, where all you do is sit there. For a little kid, two minutes seems like an eternity. So, the child may be singing just to entertain him/herself.
It gives them something to do and they finish faster.

We have video of my son in the bath tub and my daughter doing a #2 on the toilet and they are just having the best time singing and playing with each other! it was so cute!
