Why does my 5 month outdated stick out his tongue so much?

The other day i be playing with my 5 month ancient. When i noticed that he like to stick his tongue out an keep it in that for awhile. At his regular check up i asked the Pediatrician why he does this and his answer was its nought to worry around. But i wasn't worried more then curious. Is it a sign he might be hungry, is he developing a Gene Simmons tongue? or anything else i might enjoy missed. I am not to confident of my kids pediatrician. I just moved to the nouns. So were still trying to find one we close to.

Sorry if this is a silly question. But i am a silly spanking new daddy. An from what a lil stick has newly told us. I am gonna need allot more info for lil number 2 on the bearing.

Answers:    It is like when a newborn child data out it has fingers.
It is a contemporary body part explicitly discovered and he is just study about his tongue.
He is teething and exploring...You don't own to worry that he will be contained by a KISS toddler tribute band...trust me on this one.
gene simmons tongue?! i close to that! lol
he's just exploring what he can do. he's found something up to date to do with his mouth and he like it. stick your tongue out right back at him. net it a game. that he'll love.
Just a phase, he a short time ago figured out how to do it, it will swing, he may soon learn the raspberry nouns and so on, they do it with their ears, or anything they only just find/discover. Its cute!! When my daughter was babyish she discovered her hair and would try to grasp onto it and then cry because it hurt, it be so funny, the doctor said when it hurts bad plenty she will stop and she did.
My niece did it when she was roughly 5 months older too. They mostly do it to discern their gums but they also do it to relieve the pain of teething, although it's most predictable too soon for teething it is possible it's happened to a couple babies I know.
lol, I enjoy 3 and one is 6 months and loves poking his tongue out. They do it simply because they can....it's a new found entity that they can control and most times they will also get a response from you....try poking your tongue out final and you'll probably find he copies with some giggle..
