Help with baby's toenails?
Answer:
My 3 year old son's toenails are like that. I think I've maybe had to cut them like 10 times since he was born? I'm really curious to see what people and your pediatrician have to say about it. I've never thought to ask the pediatrician either.
both of my kids have this problem too. ages 1 and 3 - my younger sister does too - maybe its something genetic? i dont though, who knows. its funny like you said its only their toenails - not their fingernails.
My son is 20 months and has almost the same problem... his toenails are so brittle they break. They don't fall off though. I showed his doctor and he said that ingrown toenails are not common in babies and that I should just keep them short and slide my nail underneath them to keep them from getting ingrown. Even when they are short, I cut them as far down as I can... that seems to keep them a little stronger. Of course, I do it when he is sleeping!
Both my boys have toenails like that. I think it may be partly genetic, as my husband has horrible nails.
My 14 month old daughter has toenails like that if they don't hurt its only cosmetic
