Can someone explain temperature charting for TTC?

I am using the Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor but would also like to chart my temps to cross reference the results with the ones from the fertility monitor. Can someone explain how this works?

Answer:
Easy - get a basal temperature thermometer (I recommend a digital), you can find them at Wal-Mart, drug stores, etc. You'll need to take your temperature at the same time each morning (very important) and after at least six consecutive hours of sleep.

You'll see a temperature dip just before ovulation, followed by a rise afterward. I use FertilityFriend.com to keep track of my temperatures, and it will show you your ovulation pattern.

I also chart temps along with the Clearblue monitor - it's comforting, somehow, to see your temperatures doing what they should on the chart. :)

Good luck to you!

Well, I use a Clear Blue FM as well and I am charting also. Sounds like you are headed in the right direction. I use fertilityfriend.com You can use charting for free, but I personally paid like 19.95 for 90 days b/c you get access to the message boards for help, and you can use chart overlays to compare your months, well I just think it is worth it for the extra data and help.

Just use your fertility monitor like you would normally during your time window. Buy a BBT (Basal Body Thermometer) and take your temp. vaginally every morning at the same time before you move. Set it on your bedside table and when your alarm goes take your temp and then get up. The digital ones that store the temp(so on weekends when you take your temp at 6:00 or whatever, you can go back to sleep without having to write it down)is about $10.00.

The main thing I will stress is to take your temp at the exact same time everyday. It is a pain but I am sure you know we will do whatever it takes to get pregnant. Also, definitely take it vaginally, I didn't for the first two months and my temps were so erratic (b/c of mouth breathing etc...)

So with charting the day you ovulate some women (as I do) experience a temp dip and then elevated temps for the rest of your luteal phase until your period. Here is a link to my chart so you can see. http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/139c...
Hope this helps.
