Is their any place to get an ivf done at an affordable price?

my tubal can't be reversed because the doc. that did it burnt to much of my tubes. I can't find a doc. that is affordable for an ivf. Does anyone know of a clinic or a school that does these for a smaller fee? i am in the st louis area.

Answer:
I don't know what fees you've been quoted or what is affordable for you, but many clinics offer IVF at a reduced fee when the woman undergoing the IVF also donates some of her retrieved eggs from the cycle. I don't know if you're comfortable with doing that, or if you'd qualify (something as simple as age could easily disqualify you) but it might be an option for you. It's generally referred to as sharing a cycle, since some of your eggs would be used for you, and some of them would be used for someone else.

Personally I would look very closely at any program, Mexican or otherwise, that offers IVF for a few hundred bucks. And I'm very leery of any program that is willing to transfer large numbers of embryos in any given cycle; multiple pregnancies, while they can sound great when you're wanting kids, are risky, period. For the mother, multiple pregnancies increase the risks of pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes, placental abnormalities, anemia, polyhydramnios, and preterm labor. For the babies, the risks of multiple pregnancy include a higher mortality rate in the first month of life and prematurity and all kinds of associated complications (respiratory distress, learning disabilities, etc.) I'm not trying to sound alarmist -- and I have twins, incidentally -- but when you look at a clinic please take a look at their policies on transfers, and please don't heed advice that you transfer more embryos in a cycle to save money.

I'm sorry if that was a rant, and I don't mean to say you shouldn't look outside the US, I'm just saying that wherever you look, look closely!

I wish you the very best of luck.
You can actually get it done for a couple of hundred down in Mexico. An acquaintance of mine couldn't afford the thousands to have it done here in the states, so she hopped down to Mexico and paid very little to get it done. She had triplets back in October.
nar not in the uk
I went to the Institute for Reproductive Health in Cincinnati (about 5 hrs. from you). It is about $6,000 per cycle plus the costs of meds (about $1,200 for me). I have not heard of many places that are much cheaper, and IRH has good success rates. Good luck!
IVF (in vitro fertilization) treatment; IUI, ICSI and Laparoscopic surgery is very cheap in India. The cost is very low and the medical services are very good in India.

My cousin and her husband got their IVF treatment in India through the Forerunners Healthcare in India and is all praise for this company. She is a known case of PCOS.She is a very happy mother of a baby boy now. She just paid 2500 pounds for the full IVF treatment in India for which she was quoted 8000 pounds in private setup in UK.

Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. I read a lot about them in the newspapers. I have also read about a Chinese couple who planned surrogacy through the Forerunners Healthcare. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery and infertility treatment like IVF, IUI, and ICSI abroad for low price. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery and treatment can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.
