1st period after getting off the depo..? hubby and i want a baby girl!?
Answer:
it took me a total of 1year to get preg with my son, 9mos to get preg with my daughter, and 7mos to get preg with my son im preg with now and i had a period with all of them after quitting the depo. It can take a good while to get preg after being on the depo. just let time do its thing and im sure u will be preg within the year. good luck and God Bless
You body is flushing out all the blood from all the missed periods from the shot.
Your body is transitioning right now. maybe wait until your next "normal" period before trying for a baby.
When you ovulate, your mucous will have a consistency like this really long piece of string. Its not slippery, or breakable. You can actually stretch it between your thumb and middle finger. The sperm actually use this sperm as bread crumbs to locate the egg.
Girls sperm (X) is more resilent and slower in speed. But they have more stamina, so they last longer.
Boys sperm (Y) is less resilent, so its more likely to not outlast the female (X) sperm. But they are faster swimmers.
If you have sex on the day of ovulation or the day after ovulation,(when the egg is released from the ovary), your more likely to have a boy. Because (Y) sperm swim fast.
However, if you have it a couple of days before ovulation, your more likely to have a girl. Because the girl sperm can last longer.
You can read up more on this. Its called "the Shettles method." Also I think fertility clinics do this thing where they can put your husband's sperm through a rinse that actually destroys either the X or Y sperm, which will increase your chances of conceiving a boy or girl.
Check with your doctor when would be the best time to conceive. Because sometimes when you get off of birth control and you get pregnant right away, if you could lead to a miscarriage because the body has not gone back to its regular
rhythm yet.
Good Luck.
I was on depo for 3 years, then it took 18 months to conceive even though my cycle had been regular for close to a year. After that child, I was on depo for 4 years, it took 19 months to conceive even thought my cycle had been regular for 14 months. Your period may be very, VERY heavy when it comes back, and sometimes last longer than you're used to, but I wouldn't say your fertility would return that quickly.
Good luck!!
Your body is just "getting back to normal", getting rid of all the blood that it couldn't get rid of why u were on the shot. And to answer your question about having a girl. The female sperm is slower but stronger and the male sperm is faster but weaker.SO if u have intercourse earlier in your ovulation cycle instead of the day u ovulate then u have a better chance of having a girl b/c it gives the male sperm time to die off since the female sperm can live longer and gives them time to make it to the egg b/f the male. Hope that helps...and makes sense LOL.
You could be but dont be discouraged if you dont get pregnant right away some people do but with the shot it can take up to 6 months to a year for your body to be back to normal. It took me 6 months after I stopped the shot to have normal periods. Good luck.
My last depo shot was last feb a whole year ago..I got my period back that august and I am still trying :( so no.you are not fertile.what happens is when you are on depo it tricks your body into thinking you are pregnant so your body stops releasing eggs. so it can take up to 6 months to get your period back. However you got lucky getting your back so quickly. BUT even when you get your period back...your body releases eggs but they are eggs that do not have enough hormone in them to be fertilized. they are basically Bad eggs..or dead eggs and each month you release an egg with more and more hormones until you finally release a perfect egg. I am really thinking I am pregnant this month..after 6 months of trying...but I dont want to get my hopes up. definatly start taking pre natal vitamins now..my doc gave them to me. oh and I forgot to say, that even if you do concieve on a so called bad egg or an egg that isnt perfect, there is a higher risk of miscarriage. so just take it easy and relax, because if you do concieve soon, stress would be the WORSE thing for the new baby :) I hope this helps some. and my friend recommended to me to go get a blood test done to make sure that your hormones are going back to normal.when my shot wore off in May 2006 it took me 4 or 5 months to get my hormones back to normal, I was an emotional wreck! :0)
