Will I lose every baby I get pregnant with because I'm RH-?
Answer:
I am RH- 27 weeks pregnant with a boy. I had a miscarriage 4 years ago, never recieved Rhogam after that miscarriage and concieved 4 years later. You should be able to get pregnant, and have a healthy baby. At 27-28 weeks pregnant you will have a Rhogam shot again. I get mine Friday. My doctor said my baby is growing as he should, heart beat is great, and after my shot they expect me to have a healthy baby. Just make sure once pregnant you report any spotting ASAP to your Dr. as they may schedual your rhogam shot earlier in pregnancy if complications arise. Don't worry though, i didn't even have the shot after my miscarriage and was not RH sensatized. You can have a blood test done to see if after your miscarraige you were sensatized or not. This is something you should ask about with your Dr. I was tested automatically at 12 weeks pregnant, but i think you may be able to request the blood test before even getting pregnant. Go to your ObGYN and discuss everything. Good luck to ya!
RH factor shouldn't be a problem, if you had your shot right away after the miscarriage. All Rhogam does is protect the baby from having your body fight it if the baby is rh+. You should be fine. Everyone I know lately who had a hard time TTC is prego or just had a beautiful baby. You will too! God bless you!
I think there is something they give you, to help prevent miscarriages due to RH. I think Courtney Cox had RH.
I am also RH- ...I had my first child in 2000 and he was fine.I am now preg with my 2nd...I a;so had the rhogam with my first...being rh- shouldnt have any affect on your being able to have children
as far as being RH- ... I am and have had two perfectly healthy baby girls. during pregnancy you should get one shot of rhogam and then after you give birth you should get one before you leave the hospital
I have a friend with the same condition. She now has 6 kids. Don't give up hope.
I think you are doing everything you can do. I know miscarriages are hard to go through, but it will happen.
I am RH - and have 2 beautiful, healthy boy's. I don't think you will miscarry as a result of being RH - , but if you want a good explanation ask your Dr. He/She would likely give you a good answer. p.s My boys are both RH - as well, and my husband is positive.
I am also Rh- and I have a baby girl who I carried to term and is just fine...Babycenter.com, WebMD.com, or parenting.com all have ttc sections that should offer some guidance.
Best of Luck!
