50 day cycle please help?
Answer:
Mine was like that when I was a teenager, then I went on birth control pills to regulate my period. When I went off of them after 14 years (to try to get pregnant) I didn't get my period at all. Turns out I have PCOS. Now I take provera to start my period, and clomid to ovulate (still trying to get pregnant).
Getting pregnant requires that you ovulate. You can tell if you ovulate by tracking your basal body temperature or using ovulation predictor kits. I'd also talk to your doctor to see what she recommends - she may want to do some blood tests on you to see if there's an obvious reason why your cycle is so long.
Well most women ovulate 14 days before their next period, so for you this would be on day 36. You would start trying a few days before this up until the day afterwards (since the egg is only good fo0r about 24 hours). Yes you can get pregnant, assuming everything is in working order, but since your cycle is so long there will just be fewer days a year that you are fertile.
If you have a 50 day cycle then you should have gotten your period on January 24th. December 5th is Day 1, and January 24th is Day 50. Maybe you are pregnant now.
Do you have a medical condition to cause such long cycles. You mioght want to consider a medication like Clomid to induce ovualtion. I have polycystic ovaries and one time my cycle was 70 days long. I started a drug called Metformin and 6 month later my cycles were down to 33 days and I was pregnant
