20 And IUI?
Answer:
Hi. I got married at 18. My husband and I are very well of with plenty of money and a nice house. We started ttc when I was 19 with clomid for 6 months with my OBGYN. After no success we moved to a Reproductive Endocrinologist and I was so nervous about going in there just because of my age. He was very nice and understood why I was seeking fertility treatments. I started injectible meds and had my first IUI of 3 this past year. I ended up pregnant but had a miscarriage and then my hubby got deployed to Iraq. I will be 20 in March and he should be home in Nov. of this year. We will definetly start back up TTC as soon as he gets back. There is no such thing as an age as to when you should get pregnant. It all depends on what is going to be right for you and your life. A doctor cannot tell you no for treating your infertility. You are paying him to get you pregnant. That is his job. You are a grown woman. I wish you the best of luck. If you need support while going through the ups and downs of TTC, please go to WEBMD.com They have a great support group for infertiliy. The women are very nice and they helped me a million. Take Care.
I was 23 when I had my first round of IUI! I went through it for quite a while before conceiving.
I think the only way they woudl say no is if you had a physical reason that an IUI woudlnt work for you.
And most doctors wont do any kind of fertility treatments (medication or procedures) until you have been TTC for AT LEAST a year.
Good luck.
It normally depends on if you have fertility problems. Most insurance company's won't cover it until you have prior fertility treatments to rule out cheaper ways to get you pregnant. If you want to have an IUI because you don't want to spend the time trying to conceive than I don't know if you will find a doctor willing to do it other than for the money.
