Pcos help!!?
Answer:
Firstly, congratulations on your weight loss, it's really hard with pcos, and that's a great effort.
Secondly, don't dread seeing your consultant. You've tried hard, and you've been moderately successful, and you're obviously feeling the results already. Assure him that you're keeping on with the weight loss, and really mean it. It's something you have to keep at, otherwise you'll gain again. Pcos is a pain like that.
One thing I'd also recommend is that you try cutting out dairy from your diet, and maybe wheat as well. It's hard at first, but you soon adapt. I did this, and the health benefits were overwhelming, lots less pain, better energy, and I became really fighting fit. The weight loss that I also had was quite extreme! But feeling good was twice as excellent. Eat less processed stuff, and less junk - eat good food to fuel your body. Walk as much as you can.
Obviously you're on the way, and if you maintain a positive attitude towards your weight loss and show the specialist that you've got an exercise plan and you're really serious about making the life changes to get pregnant, you're well on the way.
If it doesn't work immediately, you're still going to be healthier, and they will let you have chlomid when you've got the best chance of being able to conceive.
The greatest of luck to you!
The weight needs to come off. Overweight people have a harder time conceiving even without the added problem of pcos. In addition it increases your chances for high blood pressure and gestational diabetes.
In four years of ttc you should have made more of an effort to lose weight. You are on here asking us to tell you it's ok to not lose any more weight. Instead of dreading the visit and being stressed over ttc, how about getting in shape.
I'm not trying to be harsh, I have a good friend that is overweight with pcos and I am tired of holding my tounge.
Hi I have PCOS and am no where near my target weight I also have under active thyroid. I got pg this year but miscarried, but it gives you hope the best advise I can gice is not to worry about it, believe me it will happen when it is good and ready, the "experts" told me to loose 7.5 stone, I barely managed to loos two so you have done really well. Best of luck for the future and don't give up hope.
Hi.. 3 wks ago i too was diagnosed with pcos. i think losing a stone is a massive achievment and you should be v pleased with yourself. ( i realise how hard it is to lose weight with pcos )
and even you can see results with your cycle/ovulation. because ive only just been and got diagnosed i dont know how much they expect you to lose, they didnt give me a target weight, but he/she will see that you are heading in the right direction. if he doesnt give you it this time, when he does, and you get preggars it will be worth the wait. the way i look at it is, if i can conceive naturally, then that would be the best outcome all round. keeep going darlin, i know its hard!! go for it in 2007
ask your dr. about LETROZOLE also called FEMARA. It induces ovulation
well done for the weight loss, i know how hard it is i have pcos as well. I myself have lost 2stone and found it a bit of struggle and had drs going at me to loose the extra weight. I had clomid and it didn,t work but this was b4 my weight loss, so maybe would have done if id lost the weight i don,t know. Please don't give up though as all extra weight you loose is better for you not just for the possibility of having a baby but for other health reasons too. It helps to reduce the risk of diabetes, heart problems, strokes high cholesterol which are more likely the heavier you are, Don't worry as all weight loss is good no matter how small its. It's a good sign that you appear to be getting more regular with nyour periods mine have come better since my weight loss which i'm still continuing with for my health and if a baby comes then that will be a blessing for me
Take care of your self and try not to stress too much as this doesn't help Good luck and hopefully you won,t have too wait too long for a baby
well done to you for loosing weight, you must feel better for it, but do keep going because already you are seeing the benefits it is giving you, very best of luck to you xxxxx
