hey...I have been off the pill now since Dec 2 2006, and have not conceived as of yet(that I know of since it's too early to know) I was told it can take up to 3 months with normal healthy couples (all is good for both reproductively) to conceive a baby. This means sometimes in order for your cycles to regulate after going off the pill, it can take 3 cycles for them to be "normal" for ovulation and everything else to be working correctly. This does NOT mean you cannot get pregnant right after going off...it only means don't get discouraged because after going off the pill, sometimes it can take a few months for your cycle to regulate (the normal non-pill way). Hope this helps, be patient and don't worry, even for couples that have not used contraceptives, it can take up to 6 months to get pregnant. I would talk to your Doctor about your own body and your cycle patterns. For me, I found my periods to be much heavier and longer the first time, and this last one (I'm still not sure if it was really a period) was heavy and then stopped after 2 days! So like I said, give it sometime. Most docs actually say to WAIT until after 3 cycles to try to conceive so your periods can become more regular. I would talk to your doc about this more though ok? I'm not sure what the answer is to your first question but as for the second one i believe one week before BC is completelh in your system at least that's what the doc told me.
It can take anywhere between 1-12 months for a normal healthy couple to concive. Doctors will only start doing tests after 12 months.
So just keep it up and try away.
