Need medical advice, about infertility!!?
Answer:
I think that you should see either our OBGYN or a Reproductive Endocrinologist since your cycle is so irregular. Maybe there is a problem that needs to be addressed. It could just be something simple but why not find out if there is any issue that is causing your cycle to be irregular or if that is just normal for you. Have you been able to tell when you are ovulating from your temperature?
When I took my temp daily to track ovulation I became very irregular because it stressed me out so much. I am not saying that is what is going on with you, but stress can delay ovulation and I was too mental and over analyzed my cycle each month.
I think that talking to other people about trying to conceive is a mistake we all make. Everyone has advice, tells you to relax, go on vacation and a lot of stuff that just isn't helpful. People with stress and impatient people do get pregnant.
Good luck. I hope it happens soon for you!
Everyone's cycle is different. There is a myth that woman ovulate 14 days after their period begins...but that is only an AVERAGE and each month can be different. The other thing is that sperm can live inside you for up to 5 days. so if you are having a shortened cycle one month and you have sex right after your period and you ovulate earlier than day 14 than yes, there is a chance of getting pregnant. The only way to know is to know exactly when you ovulate. There are several ways to know and some are more effective than others. Some can only predict before ovulation happens and some can only predict that is has already happened. The absolute best info I can give you is to go read a book called Taking Charge of your fertility by Toni Weschler. It will help you understand your body and all the myths about it. It will help you time when you are ovulating and the best times to conceive – or not! . It's about knowing your body and knowing when you are fertile or not.
My husband and I tried for 1 year and had no luck..… We tried ovulation predictors , laying with pillows under me for 20 min. everything……the first month that I began using the book I realized that my timing was WRONG!. We got pregnant that very first month and I am now due Feb 2, 2007. You can pick and choose what you do with your info. Good luck and don't listen the all the myths! Even if you don't get into charting and everything.it will help you in so many ways!

May help you.
You can also try those ovulation prediction tests available at drugstores, just to make sure you are ovulating.
And even though it is early for tests a doctor would probably be happy to run a sperm count for you, since it is easy and has no side effects.
However, it is normal for it to take up to one year.
Impossible to "try to hard"
If you are under 35, go see a doctor after 1 year of trying and not conceiving. If you are over 35, go next week (should only wait 6 months then).
There are vitamins that make his sperm swim better and make your eggs more receptive to implantation so a trip to your doctor won't hurt. But if you go before the 6mo/1 year guide line, few doctors will take you too seriously.
Good luck
Visit a repsected OB/GYN that also deals with infertility. The will usually run several tests, including doing a physical on you, blood tests, etc. and a sperm count on hubby. If everything checks out ok with him but let's say your hormones are a little off they may start you on a low dose infertility med. Talking with your Gyn. is a really good place to start. If he doesn't take you seriously find someone who WILL. That's what I did and I have 2 beautiful daughters today.
P.S.- It took us nearly 3yrs. to concieve! Don't give up hope!
Maybe you should try using an ovulation kit instead of tracking your temperature. That is what the doctor told me. Also maybe you could see your doctor to have some blood tests done to see if everything is normal. I had those blood tests done and one was normal, but on the low end. My doctor sent me to a specialist to seek their opinion on my results. Both my husband and I had tests done to rule out any problems. No problems were found. We are still trying! Good luck.
