Can I get a period and still be pregnant?
Answer:
yes - some people have their periods throughout thier pregnancy. It is not uncommon.
yea u can still have ur period and be pregnate, in fact my boss's wife had her period and didnt know she was pregnate until 5 months, she would get it evry month, but i dont think it was regular so she went to the doctor and she found out that she was pregnate.
yes, implantation bleeding does look like a very short normal period. and ifyou are pregnant you can still have menstrual cycle, though it's rare and if it happens you'll most likely be put on bed rest the whole time. This happened to my aunt and she ended up going into labor at 7 months...my cousin is now nearing 30 but things could have been much much different. so just be careful in what you do until you're sure one way or another.
An implanatation bleed is much lighter than your period and yes, you can still have a period and not realise you're pregnant. My sister was 16 weeks when she found out and was having regular periods throughout her pregnancy. The only way of knowing for sure is to take a test, just for peace of mind if nothing else.
Good luck!
Yea u can..i have seen it before..u should go 2 a pregnancy center
Period bleeding is bright red & heavy flow. Requires a tampon or pad.
Implantation bleeding is very light, normally pink & brown in color, and lasts for 2-3 days. It can be soo light that you only notice it on toliet paper when wiping, or require a pad.
Implantation bleeding occurs 6-12 days after fertilization. Never use a tampon if you suspect implantation bleeding. Introducing a foreign object into the vagina during pregnancy can cause an infection.
It occurs in 1 out of 3 women.
well i also experienced a similar thing but it was due to some pills i took to prevent pregnancy i guess in that case it is normal
I'm not sure aout implementation bleeding. But you can get you're period through the entire time. GET TESTED! it's the only way to be sure. I recomend EPT w/ the digital read out.
No. You must ovulate to have a period and if your pregnant ovulation stops.
You can bleed but its not a period!
Implant bleeding is kinda rare. Its lighter then the normal period and only lasts a short time!
yes you can. you can because the egg might of bin fertilized before it reached the womb. and you are shedding the old bed. some people bleed for 2-3 months and still have a healthy baby
Yes had a friend that didn't even know she was pregnant until she started having really bad back pains. Went to the hospital and was in labor. She called her husband at work to tell him he was a father and he needed to come to the hospital. Really funny story but true.
yes, my mother had light periods for the first 3 months of being pregnant with me! And you mentioned getting it 6 days early, so it might be an implantation bleeding, because that would be the time for a fertilized egg to implant itself (if you are in fact pregnant). Why dont you take a home pregnancy test?
Question: Can you be pregnant and still get your period?
Answer: Well, no, you can't get your period once you're pregnant — once your body starts producing the hormone human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) and your pregnancy is established, your menstrual cycle is interrupted and normal periods stop. But you may have bleeding or spotting during pregnancy that can seem like a period.
Some pregnant women have what's called "implantation bleeding" that can happen around the time their period is due, and they may mistake that bleeding for a period. This spotting may be caused by the fertilized egg burrowing into the blood-rich lining of the uterus, a process that starts just 6 days after fertilization, and it's generally a lot lighter than a typical period — just a day or two of very light spotting.
If you're pregnant and you're not sure when your last period started, this can make establishing a due date difficult for your healthcare provider. If you have any doubts, your provider can feel how big your uterus is with a pelvic examination and estimate how far along you are. In most cases, your provider will also order an ultrasound before the middle of your pregnancy to measure the size of your developing baby and clarify exactly when the baby is due.
Many women who bleed a little bit in early pregnancy deliver without any complications, but bleeding can also be a cause for concern. It may be the first sign of a miscarriage. If so, your symptoms probably will go on to include heavy cramping and bleeding much heavier than a normal period.
Abnormal bleeding can also be a sign of ectopic or tubal pregnancy. If you have sharp pains in your lower abdomen, especially if the pain is only on one side, you should see your practitioner right way to find out if you have an ectopic pregnancy. A tubal pregnancy can be life-threatening, and sometimes the only symptom is bleeding around the time your period is expected. Often, the period may be lighter than usual. Sometimes a home pregnancy test will be negative, and the pregnancy can only be detected by checking blood hCG levels.
If you bleed at all early in your pregnancy, it's best to notify your doctor or midwife to get specific instructions. She may suggest getting a blood test to check your hCG levels or order an ultrasound to evaluate your condition more thoroughly
