Implementation bleeding vs. period - symptoms?

I quit my birth control. My last period was 11/18/06. I had intercourse several times on 12/15/06. Today is 12/21/06, and I have started to lightly bleed. I have heard about implementation bleeding and I would like to know how it differs in symptoms from period. Do you have cramps? Is it heavy or light? Any changes in color? How many days does it last? I've read that you can have implementation bleeding 5-7 days after conception, which is why I'm anxious to tell if this is my period or not. Thanks so much for any help!!

Go to www.twoweekwait.com (my favorite) or http://www.americanpregnancy.org/getting... ~ Another good one... Implantation bleeding is very normal, but they get into specifics on these websites. Hope this helps...
do you mean implantation bleeding?
Yes, you can get cramps with implantation bleeding. It would be very light bleeding and usually a light pink or brown. It would likely last from just a few hours to two or three days, but usually not longer.
That having been said, it is unlikely that you were fertile 27 days after you period on 11/18, unless you typically have a 42 to 44 day cycle. This is much more likely the beginning of your period. You ovulate about 14 to 16 days before your period begins. After ovulation, you are infertile.
Implantation bleeding is when the egg implants itself in the uterine lining. The bleeding is very slight and mine lasted for about a week. I suggest you get a HPT and see what happens. I had no cramping at all.
well if your last period was 11/18 that would make you about 4 wks5days I don't have my glasses on to see the chart clearly but implantation bleeding is when the placenta implants into the uterus and this usually occurs 8-10 weeks along painless bright red and usually only last a day amt varies. if your having a light vaginal bleed you could still be pregnant this happens more common than people realize, pregnancy continues on without any problems your best bet is to call your OBGYN Doctor and go in for a blood test for pregnancy. I hope it all turns out how you want.
