Is the start of my cycle the first day I see a little blood, or when the blood flow is consistant?

I'm trying to conceive, and I need to know when the exact start date of my period was so I can familiarize myself with my cycle. (I'm trying to pin-point ovulation!) On 12/6 I saw a little blood, but the "flow" didn't start until 12/7. I'm assuming I started on 12/7. Is this correct? THANKS!

Answer:
The day you see blood...a drop , spotting , or heavy..
The first drop should count as the first day
The first day you spot is the start of the cycle. I wish you luck.
starts when you see blood.
