29 and trying to conceive.?

I'm 29 and currently trying to conceive, and have been since November. Can anyone tell me about their own experiences and roughly how long it took you. Thanks all.

Answer:
I'm also 29 and ttc I've been trying for almost a year but I haven't been on birth control for a few years. So we finally decided to go to a doctor and are doing all the necessary tests. I think you should definetly just start trying and if 6 months go by (hopefully it won't) and nothing yet then make an appointment with your OB-GYN. The best way to know when you're ovulating is by keeping track of your temperature when you wake up in the morning. You can use a chart like fertility friend they tell you when you've ovulated. You can also use an Ovulation Prediction kit it detects a hormone that only comes up when you're getting ready to ovulate. Try reading Taking Charge of your Fertility by Toni Weischler. It explains everything so much better than anyone ever could. Good luck to you!
A healthy woman will take up to a year to conceive naturally so I wouldn't worry too much yet.
my dear, just try having sex when ovulating, thats the only role you have to play, then leave the rest to God.Gdluck.
my wife is pregnant with our 3rd baby and due in 3wks, we have been lucky everytime as my wife has fallen pregnant within the first mth each time. Some people can take around 12mths to concieve though.
My husband and I tried for almost 2 years before we got pregnant. We were trying to hard I think, so it didn't happen. Once we stopped trying so hard we got pregnant. I am now 35 and have a 6 week old baby boy. Good luck!
i was very lucky and got pregnant without really trying at 26. at 29 it can take anything from 1 cycle to 12 cycles naturally - possibly longer. Just enjoy trying - you're still young.
I had my 1st child at 17...2nd by 19...3rd by 23 all of which I conceived as soon as I stopped using birth control. My 4th child, by my 2nd husband took me over 18 months to conceive...he had 2 children only 10 months apart.
for some people it just takes longer. to be honest there is no point fretting about it until you have been trying for 6 months. I the end with my last I gave up trying as I felt we were having intercourse just for the sake of having a baby...so we had sex before I ovulated and wow...there she was.completely unexpected, but a very happy suprise.
no matter what just remember why you want a baby.it is a joyful thing but one to share.the love you and your partner have is more important than anything and the more stressed you become the less likely you will fall.
My friend went thro years of tests only to be told finally that she could no ever conceive naturally, she went on holiday with husband to get over the shock before they considered IVF and when she came home was very ill.you guessed it...she was pregnant.
good luck
Yes. I took my BBT (basal body temp) every morning with a BBT thermometer and charted the temp and other symptoms and signs on www.fertilityfriend.com and I really watched my cycle, and knew when I was going to ovulate. Also I took ovulation predictor tests starting on the 10th day of my cycle to be sure i did not miss. Starting about 10 days past ovulation I started taking tests. I took my 4 months with my first son, 3 months with my second, third was a suprise, fourth i had a miscarriage but it took 1 month, fifth i had after 1 month, sixth was a suprise. hope this helps, good luck!
Hi there, when I was pregnant I had unprotected sex right at the time I was ovulating, I was in my early 20's and got lucky as the next month found out I had conceived and was pregnant. Now I am in my late 20's and frequenly sleep with my partner, at all times of the month including when I ovulate. I have been with him for almost a year and have not fallen pregnant. I think that it simply is down to chance, you can be doing all the right things at the right times and it doesnt happen. I've had experiences of both being lucky & not, so I dont think it is always down to the person. As you have only been trying for a couple of months hopefully you will soon fall pregnant, all the best!
It can be difficult as you only really get one shot at it each month so stop thinking about it as a matter of 'how long' you've been trying for. The best thing to do is enjoy yourself with your partner, treat each other specially, don't make sex a 'chore' as you'll find yourselves arguing. It may be dissappointing each month when your period comes but eventually it will happen. Stop thinking about it and pinning all your hopes and you'll eventually get a lovely suprise!
it took months then i got a clearblue ovulation test and it worked the first month
well i was about 28 when trying to get pregnant. we both spend about a year waiting , but there no sign. so we both decided that we should go for medical check up. but we told the doctors we have tried for 2years caused they will ask you to wait for 2years.

but we both think we should not wait ... one reason we are not young anymore . it took the whole year , to go to and fro to see doctors , finally we found out my husband sperm are not that good. lucky we did not wait for 2yrs.
he went for operations but no improvement. so we decided to go for IVF , since my husband sperm cant swim that well.
now i have finish the whole process ivf . waiting anxiously for my result. hopefully its positive.
so my advice is if you still cant get pregnant within a year or so . do something .
look out there's a lot of tips on how to get pregnant , if all you have try but no result like i did . then its time to check both health
wish you all the best..
I am 26 and am now 5 months and 1 week pregnant. My husband and I tried for almost 2 years to get pregnant. We finally decided it wasn't going to happen or if it did it would happen when it was time about two months after that We found out we were pregnant. Let me tell you when we were trying and nothing was happening I would get so upset like maybe I couldn't have one, or maybe I didn't deserve a baby and thats why we couldn't get pregnant, but no YOu just get pregnant when its your time.

Not all people take so long to get pregnant, make sure you are already taking your prenatal vitamins and good luck. Hope you get pregant soon.
We tried for our first when I was 26 and it took just over a year to conceive, our second took us 2 weeks and ten years later our 3rd took us by surprise I was 39. Good luck.
I am 29. I got pregnant the first time in my life I had unprotected sex!
have sex on ovulation day. I that doesnt work go to the doctor. Good luck.
I conceived my first child at 17 within a month of trying to conceive, then I conceived my daugther at 19 within a month too. I tried for my final baby at 24-28 and didnt fall pregnant at all during those four years...I was real worried about it as id conceived so easily with my last two.then I was diagnosed with thyroid problems and it all became clear that that had been the cause of my problems, the following month after treatment corrected my Thyroxine levels..I fell pregnant. Obviously thats just my personal experience, most of my friends havent fallen as easily as I did and id say on average 8-10% of them had to wait between 6-12 months to fall pregnant. Goodluck, hope you get what you want x
