Do women really just knwo when there pregnant?

I did for my second one. It may have had to do with experienceing the symptoms (breast swelling/AM sickness) within the first week as well as the fact that the even though we only had the opportunity to try once, it was at the peak day for my being fertile. I had three negative home tests before I got my positive at six weeks pregnant.
I wonder how much it has to do with positive thought. If a woman is thinking that she will surely become pregnant, the body kind of responds to this? After all conception can happen up to four days after "the act", right?
I'm sure there are woman who have thought that they were certainly pregnant and weren't, though. This is probably one of those things like knowing ahead of time by premonition that it's a boy or girl...you've got a 50/50 shot!
some woman say they knew the moment it happened.Not sure how this works, as I didn't with my first two, but I knew with my daughter;, the doctors told me I wasn't and I told them I was. and sure enough.
i did... lol for some reason i just had this feeling the day after conception... crazy as it is. but i took a test a few weeks later and it came back positive. but it was just a guess really... you can't really KNOW until you get tests done.

I think you know after your first child. I had no idea with my first but my second I just knew even when the first test didn't come out positive. Guess you just know the changes your body goes through.
I knew right away, there's a hormone that enters your brain, and I just had a really good instinct.
With my first pregnancy, I didn't even have a clue until I was 3 months (because I continued to menstruate). With my second, I did recognize so instantly. The test was a waste of money. My pregnancies were 3 years apart, but I instantly knew that feeling again!
My doctor told me it is possible that some woman know their bodies well enough that they can tell when something is going on. Also the mind can play tricks because some years ago me and my husband was trying and i was getting all of the symptoms. Morning sickness, tender breast, weird cravings, missed period etc. i had it all and i got 3 home pt teo pt at the docs office and 2 blood test and i wasn't pregnant and came on my period next day...So from personal experience i would just see the doc! Yeah im 5 weeks preg with my 3rd and i have known each time, just a gut feeling i suppose, but then again i tried for each of them, so maybe its more a want than a knowing.
Either way congratulations, and good luck, my test came up positive 5 days before i was due.
