so it's my first month temping and i have yet to get a basal temp at higher than 97.5?! this makes me super worried. i was told i have pcos but the only symptoms i have are anovulation and irregular periods oh and oh course polycystic ovaries. i did a search on the net and low basal temps equal hypothyroidism but i just had my TSH hormone checked and it was fine! does anyone else have low basal temps? will this stop me even more from conceiving? (i've done 2 cycles of 50mg clomid with no success) what else can low basal temps mean?! please help ♥
Answer:
I have never been on clomid, although I have heard that it can make for some erratic temps. However, I am naturally a low temp person also. My temps pre-o can be as low as 96.6. My cover line is usually about 97.3. My post O temps have gone as high as 98.4. I have conceived 4 times. I have never heard that low temps mean a thyroid issue. You may need to boost to a higher dose of clomid. Are you seeing an RE? I don't think your low BBTs are an issue.
Hello
I don't know how you check your temps, but I was getting low temps also. I was told to start checking my temp vaginally to get a better reading. I was doing it orally. I think vaginally has given me a more accurate and higher temp reading. Hope this helps a little. I am still TTC.
