The colour of the urine - check for jaundice; do your palm look a little yellowish? does the white of the eye look yellowish to others?

I don't really know, but I have heard that the color of your urine is brighter or more pungent when you're dehydrated.
The change in the color of your urine could be due to blood, possibly the start of your cycle? The change in urine along with the backache, I would have your MD run a urine culture to make sure you don't have a urinary tract infection.
I would trust the preg test...they are pretty accurate. I had 5-all said I was pregnant!
The urine is probably not connected to the cycle-the less water you consume during the day, the darker the urine as it is less diluted. Drinking more water helps your kidneys filter more, hence lighter urine. But I would get it checked if there is any pain or any feeling out of the ordinary.
As you get older, your cycles take on a few changes. Once I was 2 weeks late for no reason. Later I had bleeding in between periods and had it checked out only to find out it was nothing. Sounds just like serious PMS to me.
when i got pregnant with my second son i had alot of cramping and peeing alot and tired and migraines, it might have been a little to early for a home test, try again and if its still neg. and you still are late go to the doctors and have a blood test done..

If you suspect you are pregnant I would see your doctor. Their tests are much faster and much more accurate Normal over the counter tests need you to be at least 10 days late.
take 2 liters (half gallon) of water daily. Yellow urine indicates of an excess in bilirubin levels. Don't worry it'll be just fine one you drink water

Sounds like a Urinary Tract Infection. When your trying to concieve, you lay in bed for a while waiting for things to settle. Unfortunatly, some fluids settle in your urethra. Then you end up with bacteria in your bladder. We've been trying for over a year now & that's happened to me twice with those exact symptoms.
You can be sure by going to your dr and getting a blood test. Results can be seen alot faster. But it sounds to me like you may have a kidney infection if your back aches alot. U never know tho... Good Luck!
