Birth control pill question?
My husband and I are trying to concieve. I know you have to have a period to ovulate and you have to ovulate to get pregnant most likely.
My question is if you take a couple of the "period color" birth control pills will that make my period come?
I took one yesterday and I am hoping that it will.
I know not to take anymore because of course I am trying to get pregnant not prevent it.
Thanks and have a good day

I wouldn't take any more of those pills. I would recommend you talk to your dr about this issues.
Normally they wont do anything until you have been trying with proof for over a year (charting periods, CM, and BBT). But have irregular periods I would contact the Dr and see if they can regulate you or find out whats going on. Your body may just need time to regulate. Once stopping BC it can take years to get back to normal.
no because those pills are just like reminder pills to keep you on track
if u take a birth control pill then how will u get pregnant, as far as i know try till u succeed n let ur periods come normally dont force to change ur cycle... a question i would like to ask .. is ur normal cycle of periods once in 45 days then its ok so relax n wait for it to ovulate.. if u feel something is wrong better ask a doctor..
I would say not to take any more pills and just let your body have a period on its own. I was on BCP for about 6 months also and I went off of them a month ago trying to get pregnant. I got my period a week late which was a bummer. They say some times it can take up to 6 months or so after going off the pill to get pregnant. But you can get pregnant on the pill so who knows! I would just say to give your body the time it needs to recover from the BCP. Good luck!!

It has lots of great info on your cycles and getting pregnant.
I am afraid the different colored ("period color") pills have nothing with inducing your period. They usually are either placebos (have no therapeutic or medical effect) or Iron supplements.
Normally, periods should resume shortly after you stop taking the pills. (A temporary period of bleeding immediately after you stop the pills is *not* a regular period, rather it is a withdrawal effect)
Periods with longer than normal (26-30 days)intervals may indicate other underlying problems.
The best suggestion that I can give you is to time your next two periods and then consult with your gynecologist.
Normally women become pregnant within 3-6 months after getting off the pill. I would advise against waiting much longer, since you have already been off the pills for 6 months and been trying to conceive as well.
The Coloured pills in the birth control pill packet are like a placebo. They dont contain anything that's going to affect your hormones. When I was taking the pill (was on it for 3 years), when I got to the coloured pills I didnt even bother taking them and my period would come like normal.
As someone else said they are just there to remind you to keep taking the pill and so that you dont forget to start retaking the normal pills after the 7 days.
I only went of the pill mid November and I've had one period since and that was the beginning of January, so mine are a bit out of whack. I've heard it can take 3 months for them to get back to normal again. So for the timebeing me and my husband have been having sex every 2 days to make sure we are covering our bases. But also making sure that it's not a chore - luckily we are newlyweds!
Good luck and hope this helps.
Taking the "period color" pills won't help. There is nothing in those pills. They just include them so that you stay in the habit of taking pills and won't forget when to take the real pills again.
