"How soon after having a baby can a couple resume normal sexual activity?"?
Answer:
Doctors say 4-6 weeks... depends on if you get a c-section or if you tear, etc. My husband and I honestly couldn't wait! We did around 4 weeks- and I had a c-section. I turned out just fine lol... it was too hard on us to wait any longer.
depends on when the mother is feeling up to it, varies with differnet people.
As soon as the woman desires.
(6 week rule was created by OBs who think women are too dumb not to know when they are in pain)
It certainly depends on the situation. If you have a cesarian, the doctor may ask you to defer from sexual activity for some time, in order for the incision to heal. If you have a vaginal birth and have an epesiotomy, it might take some time to heal and feel up to it. As long as the doctor doesn't tell you to avoid sexual activity for a while, it's just up to the mother as to when she feels ready. Best of luck!
They say wait 6 weeks. Good luck with that. LOL.. I think we waited until the bleeding stopped and then we were rabbits again. Well in between feedings and diaper changes.
But use protection because nobody plans on going to their 6 week check up to find out they are pregnant again.
Dr's recommend to wait at least 6 weeks.
Your wife/girlfriend/partner will TELL you when you can resume normal sexual activity.
Doctors recommend 6 - 8 weeks, but i suppose if the womans feeling up to it you could try.
usally about six weeks or after the postpartum check up.
You should wait at least six weeks and then it depends on if the woman is up to it. You should not have sex before six weeks. The reason for this is because when you have a baby your cervix dilates. It takes six weeks for it to fully close back. If you have sex before then or insert anything (even a tampon) into your vagina then you have a huge risk for an infection because stuff can enter your cervix.
After a natural delivery 6 weeks is what Dr's say
6 weeks or whenever the woman feels like it. I didnt even feel like it after the 6 weeks because it hurt from the episiotomy.
Six weeks according to the doctor, it depends on how they feel.
There are several things to factor in here.
1) What type of delivery did she have? If it was a vaginal, the doc may give her the green light at her 6 week check up. C-sections are usually not OK'd until 8 weeks.
2) Did she have any tearing? Tearing during a vaginal birth can be painful and leave scar tissue, which may hurt during intercourse. If that's the case, she might want to wait another few weeks.
3) After given the go-ahead to resume sex, is it uncomfortable for her at all? If so, she should wait a little longer.
In the end, the decision is up to her. Be patient, buddy, it'll happen ;)
when the new mom feels like it.
As soon as she feels comfortable. It usually takes around 6 weeks for the bleeding to stop and the new mom to heal all the way after the birth. But there are other ways to enjoy each other besides penetration. Oral is a good one. I sure you can think of something. Congratulations on the new baby.

If she has stiches I have heard that it is better to wait till they are desolved,or removed. But then I have also heard that it dosen't matter.I guess it is the girls choice.
