first off don't get frustrated if it takes longer than expected. A good site to chart is fertilityfriend.com. I suggest also getting an ovulation predictor kit ( OPK) and that will help you time out your BD pattern and peak days. I never thought it would take this long when I started and now a year and half later, still not pregnant. If and when you go to the doctor, remember to tell them you've been TTC for a year, or they will turn you away. Just be honest with them about everything.
Honestly dont try too hard. My 4th time to get pregnant and It took us 5 months. I couldnt understand why it took so long this time, and I used everything possible. OPKs, the thermometer, checking CM, etc..I knew exactly everytime I was ovulating, but it still just didnt happen immediatley like I thought it would. If finally did after 5 months. I got pregnant right away without even trying with my first 3 babys. Here is a site for the basal temperature
Tracking your basal temp. really only tells you if you've ovulated and it needs to be done for about three months to determine a pattern. Another option is an ovulation or LH predictor test. The LH predictor test is similar to a home pregancy test and is relatively inexpensive. Your LH level peaks right before you ovulate, along with checking for cervical mucus for an eggy white consistency you should be able to predict ovulation. I
I have the same pains only on my right side. I have been diagnosed with endometriosis. You did not say if you were taking Birth control pills before. If you were it can take up to 6 months to begin ovulating normally again. My first four months after pills were 26 days every month. Then the fifth month they went all haywire. It is not that you are doing any thing wrong why you've not gotten pregnant yet, men can have issues in this area too. Don't worry over it because stress has a negative affect on your fertility. The best days to conceive are from day 10 through day 16 of your cycle, day one being the first day of your period. Typically women ovulate on day 14. If you are having the typical ovulation pain (being stabbed with a pin, or a knife some months) that I have you know exactly when you ovulate right to the minute and you don't need the thermometer to tell you. There are also natural herbs that you can take to promote fertility. Contact your local natural health professional for info on this.
