How soon can an ultasound show a fetus?welli had one today and the technician?

kept the screen away from my sight and would give me no info.I guess that is the legal responsibility..they have..Some have been
very nice before and showed me everything when i was just getting my ovaries checked they explainec the whole thing to me..i told her my concerns and she was silent...and after the internal one quickly turned the screen off before i stood up..what the heck is a lagging uterus??

Answer:
as someone who does ultasounds on a regular bases i can tell you a lot about this. a lagging uterus is not keeping up with the growth of your baby.. as far as her actions she probably seen something that was not correct. she is not at liberty to diclose this info to you only your dr. your babies yolk sac is visiable at 28 days and should resemble a egg shape. the sack could have been enlarged meaning a double pregnancy or something along that line you need to make contact with your dr immediatly and find out what the verdict about your pregnancy is.
At 12 weeks we saw a fetus, before that all we saw was a yolk sac.
I'm not 100% sure but I think a lagging uterus is one that isn't as big as it should be?

And as far as how the technician acted...Sounds strange to me. Hopefully your doctor will call soon!
Unfortunely I have experienced this treatment. I had a miscarriage and the tech never showed me the machine and never said anything, the ER doctor was the same way, he set me up with a ob/gyn app and told me that they would be able to explain. I think they are afraid to say anything because they really do not always know. Talk to your doctor and find out what is going on.
I've never had the technician not let me see the screen. Even when I was bleeding before my 1st miscarriage they let me see what they were doing.

I think that's strange.

An embryo can be seen on an ultrasound as early as 6 weeks. There's not really much detail at that point, but they can at least see it.
I had an ultrasound at the ER when I was 4weeks pregnant with my daughter. The tech was very rude and told me she saw nothing...and that I was either not pregnant or it was a tubal pregnancy.
6 days later I went to my dr and had another ultrasound and we saw the fetal pole and sac (at 5wks/6dys). At 6wks/6dys we were able to see the heartbeat. Technically the u/s techs are not allowed to tell you anything...there job is to do the scan and report back to the dr so the dr can go over the results with you. (Needless to say the tech I saw was fired after I filed a complaint because she had me hysterical).
Sounds like the tech saw something that didn't make sense and decided to wait and let the doctor view the scan before making any comments. I've never heard of a lagging uterus...the term suggests that your uterus is not the size it should be for the age of the fetus? Doc may come back to comment on an intrauterine growth restriction. You'd have to ask doctor to be sure.
I had transvaginal ultrasound when my baby is 4weeks old.
After 2 weeks, I had ultrasound again to check if there's heartbeat. My doctor is the one doing the ultrasound and she explains to me every detail I need to know. What are the do's and don'ts?

The technician must have seen something that is not usual, try consulting another doctor.
