Answer:
If you haven't had a period for 4 months, then you are probably already pregnant. Take a pregnancy test and please go and see a doctor.

How do you know you are not ovulating? You should go and see an OB/GYN. You cannot know for sure that you are not ovulating unless a doctor tells you. You can only get pregnant around the time of ovulation. No period is not a sign that you are not ovulating. It is a sign either you are pregnant or you have a more serious problem. Either way, you need to go and see a specialist.
This link gives a few reasons of why you may be lacking a period, either way it is something that definetely needs treatment.
What I do know for sure is that a lack of a period, definetely does not mean that you are not ovulating. These are the main reasons for not having a period, and lack of ovulation is not on it. Women have a period because they did not get pregnant and the womb needs to shed its lining, not because they didn't ovulate. It is two completely separate things that occur during a womans cycle.

Causes of primary amenorrhea:

* Delay may be normal if puberty characteristics, such as breat development, are present by age 13
* Birth defects of the female reproductive system
* Lack of an opening in the membrane at the entrance of the vagina (hymen)
* Problem with the hypothalamus gland

Factors that can disrupt normal menstruation include:

* Drastic weight reduction
* Eating disorders
* Stress

Causes of secondary amenorrhea:

* Pregnancy
* Stress and anxiety
* Drastic weight reduction
* Hormonal imbalance (such as with polycystic ovarian syndrome)
* Endocrine disorders such as thyroid disease or pituitary disease/tumor
* Other illness
* Excessive exercise
* Menopause (normal for women over age 45)
* Medications, including birth control pills and other contraceptives
* Uterine scarring, usually from procedures such as dilation and curettage (D and C)

Go to the doctor and get fertility tests done. He will most likely start you on Clomid. This drug insures that you ovulate. There is a very slight chance of having twins but not that high. If that doesnt work you can take stronger drugs that you have to inject yourself with. Find a good doctor, this is key to the whole process. A lot of doctors claim that they are fertility Drs. but they are not. Good luck
It is very likely that you are not ovulating. Your body has to shed the endometrial lining every month to prepare for the growing follicles and ovulation. Some women, like myself, have regular periods and still do not ovulate. I am on my 3rd cycle of Clomid , which is a drug that tricks your body into thinking it is not producing enough estrogen; therefore, produces more and stimulates ovulation. To find out if you are ovulating go to fertilityfriend.com, start taking your temperature with a BBT thermometer, vaginally at the same time every single morning. After a month you will be able to see if you ovulated, if not go to your doctor. Here's a link to my chart http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/139c...
You can miss a period due to stress but not usually 3-4 months in a row.
There are lots of unknowns, like history, age etc.
You need to talk with your Dr. about your concerns, Possibly be referred to a fertility specialist.
Depending on the unknowns If in fact you are not ovulating there are things that can be do to assist you getting pregnant.
possibly..but i didnt have a period for 3 months...thought the same thing.that i wasnt ovulating...at the beginning of the 3rd month, i took a preg test and i was pregnant..i asked the doc the same thing..she said apparently, i was about to get my period at some point, i must have ovulated and got pregnant...i have irregular periods so i guess it was just taking its time getting here...so i guess im saying from a similar experience that YES u might still be ovulating and might get preg
