Starting metformin to conceive a child... does it put a higher risk of misscarriage when they take you off met

Answer:
my doc told me taking metformin the first 12 weeks of pregnancy is a good thing to do. He said taking continuing to take it those 12 weeks, would better help you not to have a misscarriage.
I am on it now, not preggo yet but hopefully soon

best of luck to you
my friend had pcos and was started on metformin. conceived the first month... discontinued use and is expecting in march. baby is completely healthy. good luck to you.
I too took metformin to get pg. I was kept on it until 20 weeks. I was also given progesterone (sp?) pills to keep the pregnancy. If you are truly worried, I would ask about progesterone pills. I never had a history of miscarriages, but it took me quite a while to conceive, so I didn't want to chance anything.
