yes, you can...I did. You can take a home preganancy test the first day after your missed period. But I was extremely tired before I was supposed to start my period so I had a feeling that I was pregnant. Sometimes there are other signs that you're pregnant even before a home test will show up positive.

Yes. You can actually have a few light periods in the beginning and be pregnant. I had a friend who did that. Your best bet is to wait till you are about to skip a second period and check with a home test. FYI the doctor's office uses the same test you can get at the grocery store.
