Its not fair to the child to be without a father unnecessarily. It is not an easy job to raise a child alone. You don't have to be married, but at least with someone that wants to raise a child with you. To answer your first question, count how many days are in your cycle, you ovulate 14 days before the start of your period. If you cycle every 28 days, you would ovulate 14 days after the start of your period. If your cycle is 32 days then it would be 18 days after the start of your period etc. You are most fertile 24 hours before and 24 hours after you ovulate.
It's always better to wait until you are married so that there are two parents for the child.

OK well it's always best to wait til your married. Just because your period is over doesn't mean you should try. Wait until you are married or at least engaged or in a committed adult relationship. You want to be happy in your relationship and secure enough with it before you decide to bring another life into this world.
