What should i do if i think i have PCOS? Been to hospital for tests but have typical symptoms.?

Had blood tests taken, scans but have lots of symptoms suggesting otherwise.

Answer:
Pcos is a common problem amongst women, first of all symptoms to pcos can vary you can have irregular periods to facial hair and sometimes infertility.

If you are trying to conceive the doctor should refer you to a gynaecologist they will give a trans vaginal scan to see how polycycstic your ovaries are, blood tests can not tell whether you have pcos it can only check the levels of your hormones.

But if you are not then the doctor will leave you probably give the pill this makes matter worse, because you are stooping ovaries which means you will be having false periods so when you do try and conceive your ovaries can over stimulate themselves.

SELF HELP
Weight plays a big part so try daily exercise,
Keeping out of stressful situations can help,
Try something that relaxes you at least once a week,
Aromatherapy can help - Fill the bath with warm but a bit hot water add 4 drops of geranium, 2 drops of rose and 2 drops of Clary sage. This oils are known for their balancing of the hormones properties do this bath in the evening for 10 Min's at least twice weekly your partner can also do this.
I found that Angus cactus works (if trying to conceive) this a fertility enhancing drug.
Try using natural methods such as homoeopathy, acupuncture, cupping and so on.

I am a sufferer myself and also an aromatherapist as well.

Good luck let me know how it went!!!!
I would get a second opinon and ask the doctor if the symptoms you are experiencing could be related to something else.
i agree second opinion
hi i too have pcos i was diagnosed 5 yrs ago the classic symptoms are gaining weight especially around your tummy area excess facial and body hair this is due to high levels of testosterone the male hormone in your body also you will find you get mood swings and feel like you can take the whole world on this will not be your fault if your trying for a baby then taking clomid when you have your period between day 2 and 6 will help you to produce better quality eggs as people with pcos do not release eggs they are normally cyst filled follicles the clomid will help your eggs mature and reach a good size i hope this has been a little help to you and i wish you good luck
