Pregnant or not?

We have been trying to conceive for 9 months. i was due for my period on Dec2nd, but have not got it yet. I took Hpt (store brand) showed negative. I feel nauseous and tired. Could the Hpt be wrong? Also I got a cold and bad cough since yesterday, if I am pregnant will the cough harm my baby? I am taking Robitussin for this.

Answer:
WAY TOO EARLY TOO TELL WAIT AT LEAST ANOTHER WEEK AND USE FIRST RESPONSE!!!
i think the over the counter tests are pretty accurate - it took me years to get pregnant & sometimes i would convince myself i had the symptons of pregancy if i was a day or two late, so i would just wait it out another week & if still no period repeat the test. usually the nauseousness kicks in when you have missed your period for at least 2 weeks or longer. good luck.
Hi there, I just learned I was pregnant and the same thing happened to me. It read negative at first - then a week later I took it again and it was positive. You aren't that late yet - so give it a few days, then if you haven't gotten your period take another test. To be on the safe side, I wouldn't take Robitussin for the moment. Don't worry that you have already, just don't take any more. Best of luck!!
for me i have to be 10 weeks pregnant to find out by hpt so it could be wrong. robitussin could hurt the baby so i would only take tylenol and only 2 a day until u find out
Those are all symptoms of pregnancy so wait a couple of weeks and take the test again. No a cough wont harm the baby but I would stop taking medicine that has alcohol in it. I am not sure if Robitussin does but if it does don't take it. Don't take anything with aspirin either. If I remember correctly my doctor said to take Sudafed but just to make sure call you doctor and explain to him/her that you might be pregnant and what medicines are best for you to take for a cough and cold. Good luck and hopefully congratulations!!
Lay off the cough medicina and get some Halls cough drops. Take another test in the morning right after you get up.
first of all, stop taking medicine for your cough/cold, it could harm a pregnancy if you are pregnant. the test you took, could be wrong yes, it could be too early to tell. it all depends on how much of the hcg you have in your body at the time, wait a few more days and take another test, keep doing this untill either you have a period or positive test. Nausea and tiredness are normally the 1st signs of being pregnant, so fingers crossed for you, xxxx please let us know how you get on.ps...clear blue can be more expensive but give a very acurate result even early on.
You might not have enough hormone in your system to register a positive or you might not be pregnant and just have a long cycle. give yourself another 3 or 4 days and try urine test again if no period. no, the cough won't do anything but the robitussin might. Until you know that you're not pregnant - don't take anything except tylenol.
same thing happend to me i had all the symptons of pregnacy and my period was 1 week late and then i got my period..maybe your just under stress...
No, coughing will not hurt, dislodge or do anything harmful to your baby. Think of it like a grain of rice in peanut butter.

However, hpts, although wrong sometimes, are usually pretty reliable. You are two days late.

Try another brand of hpt. Good luck to you! I hope it turns out that you are preggo! If not, do not fret. Even if you need a little "help", most issues are resolved. I just had my beautiful son 7 months ago. He was conceived through the miracle of IVF!
